Height and Weight Chart

Your height weight chart helps to determine your life insurance risk category. Your risk category determines your life insurance premium. In addition to the height weight chart, your risk category depends on medical history, paramedical exam results, family history, and occupation and lifestyle risks. Height and weight is the easiest of these to control, so a lot of attention is paid to it.

Each company uses their own set of height weight charts as one of the factors that determine your rate category, but you can use the following as a starting point for height and weight.

Find your approximate height in the first column. Then read across to find your maximum weight for a "Standard" rating (same for male and female), as well as for a "Preferred Plus" rating (different for male and female). If your height and weight are more than these numbers, you can still obtain life insurance but it will cost somewhat more.

More people than ever focus on their weight and weight. And yet, the obesity numbers speak for themselves. Part of the problem is the abundance of fast food that is available today, coupled with insanely busy schedules.
