Tips for Obtaining Your Lowest Possible Premium

1. Fast for 8-12 hours before the exam. You should only consume water and any prescribed medications.

2. Schedule your exam for the morning (weekends available). You will test better and fast while you sleep.

3. Drink lots of water.

4. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours before the exam.

6. Get a good night's sleep before the exam.

7. If you take medication for blood pressure, make sure you continue to take it. If you have large arms, request a larger cuff to avoid false blood pressure readings.

8. If you have had major illnesses, surgeries or injuries, please have all dates available, as well as the physician and hospital names and address. Also have any regular medications available for reference.

9. If you use tobacco, avoid it for at least 30 minutes prior to the exam. Nicotine constricts artery walls, thus elevating your blood pressure.

10. If you have any major stress prior to the exam, please cancel and reschedule.

Health Conditions Requiring Extra Attention

    1. Hypertension: No stimulants; take exam in the morning; continue your usual medications and relax prior to the exam.

    2. Diabetes: Eat approximately 2� hours prior to the exam and be sure not to consume any sugars afterwards. Empty bladder right after your meals and drink plenty of water before the exam.

    3. Past Coronary or EKG Issues: Do not take any stimulants prior to the exam.
